In my last post, I shared how a blank Tableau sheet feels like a canvas to me—full of possibility and imagination. With this project, inspired by visuals I found on Pinterest, I’m pushing myself to think about Tableau not just as a tool for charts, but as a medium for creative expression.

Now that I’ve set the vision, it’s time to focus on the data. The art I want to create relies on more than just colors and shapes—it requires carefully structured data to bring the design to life. I’m asking questions like: How many points or shapes will I need? What fields should define their placement, movement, or layering? How can the data itself enable the animation I’m imagining?
This stage feels like solving a puzzle, where every data decision unlocks a new possibility in Tableau. I’d love to hear how you approach this part of the process—when faced with an unconventional visualization, how do you break down the data requirements to make it possible?
For me, this exploration is less about rushing to the final product and more about enjoying the process of discovery.
