What a Week! Tableau Conference 2025 Recap

I just got back from #DataFam’s favorite week of the year—Tableau Conference—and I’m still buzzing with inspiration, new ideas, and a deeper love for this incredible community. Whether you were cheering from the front row or following along from afar, here’s a recap of the highlights… and a few spicy ideas for what could come next.

Year Four—And My First as a Tableau Visionary

This was my fourth year attending TC, but it was my first as a Tableau Visionary, and I’m still processing what a gift it was. I found myself sharing a room with the legends who shaped my journey: Jeff Shaffer, Jonathan Drummey, Chantilly Jaggernauth, Kevin and Ken Flerlage—thank you for your wisdom, your generosity, and for continuing to pour into this community.

I also had the chance to spend real time with brilliant women I admire so much: Kimly Scott, Shreya Arya, Priya Padham, Preethi Lodha—and so many others whose work, leadership, and kindness made this year feel extra special.

The Tableau Tip Battle

The highlight of my week? Hands down, co-hosting the Tableau Tip Battle 2025 with the amazing Dinushki De Livera! This year's showdown was packed with clever tips, fierce competition, and just the right amount of drama—exactly what you’d expect when the DataFam brings their A-game.

Eight incredible tipsters brought the heat: Sarah Bartlett, Felicia Styer, Tore Levinsen, Jeffrey Shaffer, Kimly Scott, Prasann Prem, Lorna Brown, and Jonathan Drummey. Everyone shared a tip worth trying—and probably rewatching.

Our all-star judges—Christin Felix, Candra McRae, and Irene Diomi—reacted in real time, offering insights, laughter, and just enough suspense to keep us on the edge of our seats.

We saw classic tips reimagined, brand-new tricks revealed, and a finale that is worth rewatching. But I won’t spoil the ending... [Watch the full session here] to see who took home the crown and steal a few tips of your own. Whether you're a Tableau veteran or just starting out, this is 40 minutes of inspiration you won’t want to miss.

Spicy Idea for TC26: Wings & Tips?

Okay, hear me out. What if next year, we take the Tableau Tip Battle to the next level—rapid-fire tips, but after each contestant takes a bite of a spicy wing? Think Hot Ones meets hot dashboards. We could call it… Wings & Tips. Would you watch it? Or better yet… would you compete?

Let’s make it happen, y’all.

Elevating Women in Data

Something that’s been on my heart more and more: how do we continue to lift the voices of women in this community?

Next year, I’d love to host a panel of women discussing their careers, their journeys with Tableau, and how they’ve navigated the data world. From early-career pivots to leadership roles, there’s so much wisdom and inspiration in our community—let’s share it.

Let’s Keep the Magic Going

I’m walking away from TC25 energized, grateful, and more committed than ever to lifting others, learning from the best, and building something beautiful with data.

Let’s stay connected. Got ideas? Want to collaborate? Just want to share your biggest takeaway from the week? Let's connect!

See you next year—maybe at Wings & Tips. #TC25 #TableauTips #DataFam #WomenInData #WingsAndTips
